Ilpo Okkonen Born September 28, 1954, in Oulu, Finland, where he still lives. Ilpo is a professional photographer and book designer. His corporation, Studio Ilpo Okkonen Oy, is a graphic design company that specializes in publishing photography books, advertising, multimedia shows and Internet sites. Ilpo was awarded the main price, the "Golden Character" award, at the International Leipzig Book Fair in 1986 when one of his books was judged the most beautiful book in the world that year. The government of Finland has used his books as official gifts for visiting foreign dignitaries, including Pope John Paul II, and Queen Elisabeth II of England.
